Gustin jeans made from sanforized raw selvedge denim from one of the finest mills in Japan. When we search for a perfect Japanese selvedge, we look for a few key things: solid weight, dark indigo start and the potential to wear to the perfect medium blue with great texture. We saw everything we liked in the Okayama Standard. This style is a very solid 14.5oz, starts out raw in a deep blue indigo and wears to the mythical medium blue we all want. The fade shots tell the story. The color is stunning, the grain amazing. It even has a great vertical grain when worn in. Throw in a very cool double stitch orange selvedge ID and this is a perfect, traditional Japanese denim. Made in the Okayama Prefecture, this one is perfect all around denim. You will receive a new pair of raw denim, not worn-in or distressed.
This is the same style and quality that was sold in boutiques all over the country for much higher.

After following the size guide and having my wife measure my waist I was pretty confident that a 34 skinny would be the right size. They ended up being a bit too tight in the top block and calves. In the past I would have settled for this knowing that the jeans would eventually loosen up. However my approach to selvedge denim has changed after months of reading reddit posts and watching youtube videos. After a few returns I finally settled on a 35 skinny which is about 2-3 sizes above what I would wear with other non selvedge brands (Levis, Boulder Denim, etc).
